It’s time for the inevitable comparison between the newest tablet on the market, the Google Nexus 7, and the dominant device in this category: the iPad. While the comparison might seem like the obvious thing to do, it’s much more sensible to compare to the Amazon Kindle Fire – and before we get too deep into the specifications on either end, you need to know: Google is in a much better position right this second than Amazon.

HTC says something “INCREDIBLE” is heading your way next week

This week has been pretty busy. We’ve witnessed a lot of things, starting from the Google I/O developer conference, down to Qualcomm’s Uplinq 2012 event. But before this week ends, HTC was kind enough to keep us all excited for next week. HTC appears to be touting something incredible next week. “Next week, we’ve got some special fun headed your way. We hear it’s going to be INCREDIBLE,” HTC said in a tweet today.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will reportedly have a 5.5-inch screen

Word about the coming of a second-generation Samsung Galaxy Note began to surface earlier this month. Since then, we’ve been hearing more and more about it. Last week, Korean newspaper MK Business News mentioned that the rumored Galaxy Note 2 will be making its debut sometime in October this year. Samsung Mobile Arabia also tweeted some sort of a clue pointing out a Galaxy Note 2 in the works, although it remains to be seen.

Google has made it official: the search giant launched the Nexus 7, a powerful and affordable 7-inch tablet running the new Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC (system-on-chip) and made by ASUS.
