[Review] Apple TV 1080p

Image
Apple TV was Apple’s “one more thing” at the new iPad launch event last week, but that’s not to say the smart TV adapter isn’t maturing into a comprehensive product in its own right. Now bringing Full HD to the table, as well as a streamlined interface, the third-generation Apple TV is arguably the best companion to the new iPad so far. Does it stand tall on its own, though? HTC One X Review

Image
HTC needed to hit reset on its smartphone strategy. Lulled, perhaps, by several years of leading the Android device market, 2011 brought an incredibly strong push by Samsung and a growing mismatch between the agile software users desired and the bloated, over-stylized interface of HTC Sense.

Blackberry Curve 9320 leaked in T-Mobile snafu

Image

Hands on with Viddy: Instagram for Videos

Image
The developers at Viddy Inc have had no qualms about riding the coattails of Instagram as the latter company shot to stardom over the past few weeks – and with an interface nearly identical and videos instead of photos to boot, why shouldn’t they? Made by a completely separate set of developers than the folks who brought you Instagram, this app has been described many times in it short history as “Instagram for Videos.” Imagine our surprise then when we had a peek at it and it actually was!

Nokia Lumia 900 Review

Image
By Introducing the Lumia 900, Nokia is effectively bringing a larger, 4G LTE, version of their Lumia 800 to the market.  It has just about all the qualities of its predecessor, but the larger size changes the user experience slightly, and the battery life seems to be better out of the box. The Nokia Lumia 900 builds on the new industrial introduced by the Nokia N9 which uses a single bloc of polycarbonate that effectively becomes a cradle for the rest of the phone. This makes it extremely resistant to shocks, while giving it a soft texture. The question is: are you ready to try Windows Phone?

Bad luck Nokia: Your Next Billion is saying No Thanks

Image
You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs, but Nokia‘s looking more scrambled than anything else today. Some number crunching after Nokia’s warning of worse-than-predicted financials for Q1 2012 reveals quite how badly the Finnish company’s legacy business is crumbling: the same business that Nokia was relying on to keep it afloat during the Windows Phone transition. The headline figure: a mere 83 million handset sales, down from 108.5m a year ago.
