HTC One V coming to the US this summer

The HTC One series of smartphones has yet to be fully deployed in the US – in fact, we just received word that the HTC One V will be arriving later this summer, although the folks over at HTC have decided to remain tight lipped about the situation. 







They did let loose a little tidbit though, saying that the HTC One V will arrive for a “variety” of US carriers. Just to refresh your memory, the HTC One V is the least impressive of the HTC One series, where it will come with a 3.7″ WVGA display, a single-core 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera. Nothing spectacular, but it is functional at the very least. Ah well, good thing the HTC One V will ship with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system alongside Sense 4.0, so that means you need not wait for a future software update. Will the purple and black shades of the HTC One V also make their way? Only time will tell.

Samsung Mobile countdown site points to tomorrow reveal, hints at Retina?

Apparently there will be big Samsung news unveiled when the calendar hits April 23. The manufacturer has launched a new teaser site with a countdown timer set to expire in the early morning hours of tomorrow, in US time at least. The site is a seemingly nonsensical tgeltaayehxnx.com, but if you put your anagram skills to the test, you can realize that it actually unscrambles to “The Next Galaxy.”

Late last year, Nokia released the first real Windows Phone, the Lumia 800. The device while impressive an impressive Windows Phone running handset, lacked a front-facing camera and the 3.7-inch screen was just too small. Earlier this year at MWC, Nokia announced a bigger brother of the Lumia 800, the Lumia 900, which comes with a bigger screen (4.3-inch) and a front-facing camera. The Lumia 900 is mainly targeted towards the United States, and was launched recently with a huge marketing campaign from Nokia and AT&T.
